Turmeric has a mild flavor which resembles ginger and pepper and is sold as an orange-yellow powder. It's a key ingredient in the chicken bases we sell. Although turmeric is generally a staple ingredient in curry powder, some people like to add a little extra of this spice when preparing curries. Also, add to egg salad and salad dressings to give it an even bolder yellow color or can be mixed nicely with brown rice. This spice is delicious on healthy sautéed apples, and healthy steamed cauliflower and/or green beans and onions. It is also a great spice to complement recipes that feature lentils. Can be used as an inexpensive substitute for saffron.
